Everybody and everyone protests for something. So... capitalism is bad, communism is awful, there is no democracy yet there is to much democracy, politicians are bad...wait no, the banks are worst; there are rich against poor, poor against rich, poor against poor, brothers kill their brothers, leaders enslave/slaughter their subjects ("in the name of progress and peace"!!!!), subjects slaughter their leaders ("in the name of justice and freedom"); today cops go on strike for their poor conditions, tomorrow they knock-out strikers who protest for their living conditions, yea is nay and nay is yea.
Everybody quotes and praises the work of Aristotle, Plato, Kant, Schopenhauer, Hegel, Marx, Voltaire, Montesquieu, J.J. Rousseau, Adams, Jefferson etc. yet we please to live after Machiavellian principles.
We "the people" make distinction between races and religions, we criticize others on their political views, sexual orientation, weight, diet. We are mad and angry against someone or something; we take side yet selfishness is in our nature; we are greedy, we breathe hatred, we search and we are bombarded with breaking news, we search transgression, we crave for attention, we communicate trough symbols, emoticons, social networks and causes (each day I receive several "join my cause" requests, yet only a couple of them raise awareness on  issues like "1 billion people live in chronic hunger and I am mad as hell" which by the way for now,  interests less than 3,5 million people).
We protest! Against who or what? Why? Is it because we want more  or enough financial benefits for a better life? or is it because we think that today our lives worth less than a handful of money or because we are not at all free? or just because is trending?
What happiness means today? What we want to change? how we want to change things? In what we want to change them? what's your "cause"?
As for me, I protest for the progressive loss of moral and cultural values, for the fact that we have lost the meaning of "happiness", for the fact that there is way to much hate around us. That's why I protest.
